24 heures de Daytona

This weekend is the 2016 Rolex 24 of Daytona. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first 24 hours edition of the race (the first race took place in 1959 but that year it was only a 1,000km race). Only in 1966 did the race become a 24 hours endurance.

A few years ago, we acquired one of the Daytona 24 winner and undertook a complete restoration of the car. That car was a Porsche 935 from Joest Racing, overall winner of the 1980 race driven that year by Reinhold Joest, Rolf Stommelen and Volkert Merl.

In addition, we also acquired the GTU class winner and 5th overall of the same 1980 Daytona 24 hours, a Porsche 914/6 driven by Bill Koll, Jim Cook and Greg LaCava.

Here are some pictures of both cars.
